Voluntary wardens from all four sectors in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park joined together for their annual meeting at Newport Boat Club recently.

Authority chairman, Clr. Stephen Watkins, chief executive, Nic Wheeler, and sector rangers joined the voluntary wardens for a busy programme.

Following the sector reports, there were talks by Jean Denham, of the Newport Paths Group; tree officer Matt Smail on the tree wardens scheme and by north senior ranger Geraint Harries who reviewed progress on the Penlan clearance project.

Nic Wheeler reported on the National Park year and this was followed by a lively question and answer session.

In the afternoon, area ranger Carol Owen led a walk looking at local projects which have involved voluntary wardens, rangers and contractors, particularly the renovation of a leet at Hendre and a disabled access path along the Parrog worked on by the Newport Paths Group.

Geraint Harries gave a talk to another group of voluntary wardens.
