VISUALLY IMPAIRED PERSONS CLUB

The Tenby branch of the Visually Impaired Persons Club held its annual general meeting in the Greenhill Day Centre on Tuesday, January 16.

At the beginning of the meeting the chairman, Mr. Jim Hatcher, thanked members for their good wishes sent to him during his recent sojourn in hospital and subsequent convalescence.

He then welcomed two new members, Mrs. Kathleen Bloch and Mr. David Sharp.

All the existing officers were re-elected.

The secretary, Mrs. Margaret Walker, then gave the report outlining the series of very interesting and varied speakers and remarking upon the generosity of the Pembrokeshire Blind Society in providing a mini bus to transport members to and from the venue.

At her request, several suggestions were offered by the members for speaker and activities for the coming year.

Thanks were expressed to the ladies of Saundersfoot Inner Wheel who , month by month, come and serve tea and biscuits - a very welcome service appreciated by all.

The reports were accepted, with a vote of thanks.

After tea, a quiz was organised by Mr. Tom Forgaard, the group being divided into two teams. Honour was satisfied all round when, at the conclusion, it was found that both teams had equal scores.

The next meeting of the VIP Club will be held in the Greenhill Day Centre on Tuesday, February 20 at 2 pm when the entertainment will be provided by a harpist.
