An amateur running club based in Cheltenham and The Cotswolds spent last weekend in Tenby, not just for a sporting trip, but also for fund-raising purposes. Staying at the resort's Clarence House Hotel, the 120 charity runners from the Hash House Harriers Club, took part in a night run around the town's pubs on Friday, collecting funds in aid of the Tsunami Disaster Appeal, while on Sunday, they travelled out of the town for a run with their collection buckets, returning along the South Beach. Said club member, Rob 'Blobby' Hunt: "We've had a great reception on our runs and big thanks go to everyone who has contributed and helped with the fund-raising. "After the tsunami disaster, the Hash House Harriers donated £100 to the cause straight away, but we're delighted to have managed to raise a further £608 in total over this weekend in Tenby through collection buckets and other fun activities," he added. The club's founder members, Mike Wallace and Jim Dumbrill, who still continue to run, started up the Hash House Harriers in 1981, with the group which has club's worldwide, planning to return to Tenby next year to celebrate their silver jubilee anniversary.
