There was a VIP for Park House Court Nursing Home last Thursday, when the Deputy Minister for Social Services, Gwenda Thomas, visited, accompanied by Lesley Stubbs, the CSSIW area manager.

The Minister was shown around, and met with many residents, chatting to them as she moved around the premises.

Of particular interest was the partnership with Hywel Dda in relation to Tenby Cottage Ward, the planned extension to the business, the proposed nursing village, and the fact that Park House Court is accredited via Awarding Bodies to deliver external qualifications to those staff unable to access via the local college.

She was also interested in the work Park House Court does with other care homes, and assisting with those people at home who contact in an emergency, and how this is done in practice.

She has promised to visit over the lunch period next time and sample the excellent catering facilities provided at the home, thanks to an experienced and well-motivated team that offers choice and nutrition based on individual need.
