Fourteen young musicians, all aged 11 or under, took part in the recent Junior Musician of the Year Competition held by the Rotary Club of Narberth and Whitland at Narberth County Primary School. After much deliberation, the judges, Mrs. Chris King and Mr. Bobby Main, declared 11-year-old violinist Kate Marsden from Tavernspite CP School the winner. Kate's nine-year-old sister Louise (flute) was second and 11-year-old trumpeter Lewis Brickle, of Sageston, came third. President Robin Bradbury (seen right with the winner) presented all the competitors with certificates and cash prizes were awarded to the first and second places. He also thanked head teacher Mrs. Edna Davies at Narberth CP School for the hospitality, Rotarian Neil Jackson for organising the event, Inner Wheel for refreshments and all the competitors for making it such a lovely evening for the audience.
