Over 40 members of the Pembrokeshire Vintage Car Club met for its monthly meeting at the Pembrokeshire Motor Museum recently where the guest speaker was motoring historian Mike Worthington-Williams.

Acknowledged as one of the foremost experts in his field, Mike is editor of Classic Car Mart, a consultant with Brookes and a contributor to The Automobile and many other motoring journals.

Mike is a practising vintage car enthusiast and his daily travels involve the use of his 1927 Austin 20 which is about to clock up 200,000 miles in 19 years of motoring in Mike's hands.

In this year's talk, Mike showed slides of old cars and other vehicles discovered in Australia, America and in the UK. It is amazing that there are barns up and down the country still harbouring fascinating motors waiting to be discovered.

Afterwards Mike answered a variety of questions ranging from lead replacement petrol to the technical problems associated with cherished registration numbers involving the DVLC at Swansea (another subject where he has a specialised expertise).

Chairman Dave Mathias thanked the speaker, saying: "It is always a pleasure to listen to Mike and yet again he has given us a fascinating talk. His annual visit to our club is eagerly welcomed by members and we are already looking forward to next year."

November 24 sees the PVCC's annual dinner and presentation evening at the Cartwheel Restaurant at Amroth. Anyone wishing to attend should telephone Hilary on 01437 890143
