The villagers at Hermon near Crymych were shocked over the weekend to have seen many of the Ukrainian flags put up being torn down and a note left for supporters that read ‘NAZI sympathiser’.

The fundraising efforts of the villagers began last week as 70 flags were purchased to allow people to buy the flags individually and make a donation for humanitarian supplied to the people of Ukraine.

The coordinator of the fundraising - Cris Tomos noted “I was truly shocked that someone would hold such strong feelings about our efforts to donate money for medical and humanitarian supplies to people living through the horrors of war in Ukraine.”

Cris continued: “To then leave a note suggesting that we support Nazi regimes is very disappointing; our fundraising campaign is totally non-political.”

The police have been informed of the incidences and anyone with information relating to theft and vandalism should contact the police.
