A group of volunteers from the St Florence Community Support Group have been making colourful face masks and laundry bags for key workers in the county.The ladies, Angela, Ann, Belinda, Carole, Charlotte, Chris, Denise, Doreen, Ella, Jane, Janet, Leelian, Lisa, Liz, Margaret and Mary have been busily sewing away using beautiful fabrics donated by many local people and local businesses TP Hughes, Clare’s Craft Centre and Inhouse Quilting. The sewing ladies are supported by Annalise and Sarah who pre-cut the fabric ready for sewing and by Natalie who is helping with delivering materials and collecting finished items.The Group also includes two generations of the same family - fifteen-year-old granddaughter Charlotte and her grandmother Chris.
Charlotte is doing a brilliant job fitting in her sewing alongside her school work.
Co-ordinator Sarah said: “In just a few weeks these fantastic ladies have made an amazing number of masks and laundry bags and the first batches have now been distributed to local care homes and voluntary organisations.”
The Community Support Group is part of the Pembrokeshire Community Support Network and is overseen by local Clr. Phil Kidney.
