On a 40-acre, traditional Welsh hill farm located in the foothills of the Prescelly's, at Pant Mawr, Rosebush, near Clynderwen, David and Cynthia Jennings serve the community by keeping the local Post Office going from their former cowshed. When the Jennings' returned to their native Pembrokeshire in 1983 after setting up and managing large dairy units in Libya and North Yemen, they initially established their own dairy unit. They now buy in locally produced milk and combine their self-taught skills and unique self-developed recipes to produce a range of traditional, hand made cows and goats cheeses. Although they are located up a short lane from the public road, Cynthia said they accepted the challenge of running the Post Office when others were reluctant to take it on. "We shall keep it going as long as we can but, if the government set about closing more of these rural offices, then we shall probably have to call it a day," said Cynthia.
