Wybert Bendall (born 1933) has published a book on kindle Amazon books titled ‘Under Slag Tips’.

It is a collection of short stories based on growing up in Aberfan, a small mining village in the Welsh valleys, during which time he was surrounded by colourful characters. He has used these and woven them into amusing and vibrant tales of a time long since gone.

He calls it faction, a blend of fact and fiction, which combine to make interesting reading. Read about ‘Minnie Five Fags’, ‘Birdy Bevan’, ‘Will the Brush’ and many others.

Some of you may remember that, a few years ago, Wybert read from his collection of stories to groups and societies throughout Pembrokeshire. Since then he has expanded his collection.
