The Manorbier night firing application will come before the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority's planning meeting this month - and this has meant a switch of meeting venue. The development management committee meeting on Wednesday, May 17, will take place at the Cleddau Bridge Hotel, Pembroke Dock, beginning at 10 am. A large number of Manorbier residents and others are expected to turn out for the committee meeting. The usual meeting venue at the Park Authority's Llanion Park headquarters is not large enough to accommodate the anticipated numbers and the authority is therefore seeking to ensure that interested individuals have the opportunity to listen to the debate. • The Ministry of Defence has applied to the National Park Authority for permission to carry out night firing of missiles at the Manorbier Army Range on 20 nights per year. • Already the application has prompted a petition signed by over 380 people and 48 private letters of objection.
