Sir,

On Sunday afternoon, between 2.30 and 2.45 pm, we drove from Freshwater West to Manorbier. At home, we discovered that our two surfboards and the bag they were in had vanished. We obviously hadn't secured them to the roof properly.

We drove back, retracing our steps, and there was no sign of them. Please can you appeal to any readers to let us know their whereabouts?

They are two Spider surfboards - one plain white six-foot, the other white with yellow trim, six-foot ten inches. The bag was silver and black.

My husband is distraught, and we are most upset that someone has picked them up and not put them by the side of the road, or handed them in to the police or the local surf school.

Kate Blackwell,

Manorbier.
