Vandals have caused damage to Saundersfoot's Regency Hall. Sometime overnight last Thursday, stones were thrown at a window, breaking three panes of glass and lettering was ripped from the building's sign. "This is the latest in a spate of incidents of mindless vandalism which has occurred in Saundersfoot," PC Mike Smith told the Observer. "The vandals have made a concerted effort to damage the property by taking pot shots with stones at the windows, not only smashing the glass, but causing damage inside with broken glass," he continued. "These ongoing acts of wanton vandalism are often petty, yet expensive to repair. "There have been a number of incidents in the village lately, some of which have been reported to the police, others which haven't, but nevertheless are continuing to cause annoyance." Added chairman of the hall committee, John Dugmore: "We are in the process of applying for funding to revamp the hall which will be of benefit to all the community, but incidents like this make us wonder is it all worth it?" It is estimated that last week's damage will cost several hundreds of pounds to repair. Only two days before the damage was caused, youths threw water bombs at members of the public attending a forum meeting at the hall. Police are appealing for anyone with any information about either incident to contact Tenby or Saundersfoot police stations.
