Apprentices, bursary and industrial placement students attached to the Valero Refinery at Pembroke were guests at a reception in County Hall, Haverfordwest, on Monday night.

Accompanied by their mentors and senior managers, the group - led by Valero vice president and Refinery general manager Ed Tomp - also took part in a general discussion in the Council Chamber chaired by their host, Council Chairman Wyn Evans.

Councillor Evans, along with Vice Chairman Tony Brinsden; Michael John (Chairman of the Council’s Economy Overview and Scrutiny Committee) and past Council Chairman David Pugh answered questions from the young people.

The Valero visitors also included: Nicky Howells (training manager); Clive Brown (manager reliability engineering) and Sarah Jellicoe (manager process engineering).
