Year 3 and Year 4 competed in the morning. Oliver Pellington was first in the pool and came a respectable fifth in freestyle. His brother Dean followed and was second in the breaststroke. Dean was also entered for the butterfly and gained a silver medal in second place, one hundredth of a second behind the winner.
Oliver and Dean were joined by David Dunfee and Adam North for the freestyle relay where, after a very exciting race against teams from all over Wales, they came a very creditable second.
The boys managed to top this by winning the medley relay in a very exciting race. Adam started the team off by swimming the backstroke. David took over and swam the breaststroke leg. Oliver and Dean brought the team home.
Andrew James competed in the Year 5 and Year 6 races in the afternoon in the individual medley (all four strokes). Andrew came first and lifted the gold medal. C
