Pictured is 11-year-old Rhiannon Andrasko, of The Esplanade Hotel, Tenby, who has been celebrating success in the Urdd Eisteddfod last week.

Rhiannon, who attends Ysgol Preseli and plays trombone, came third in the Brass Year 7-9 category. She played On The Sunny Side Of The Street.

The competition was tough, but the adjudicator said she had played with character. There were 16 in her category, of which she was the youngest. Rhiannon was thrilled to be chosen in the top three and play on the main stage live for S4C, achieving third position.

It was a bit of a rollercoaster day, as Rhiannon and her family took a wrong turn, getting there later than planned. Then, having checked the results and not seeing Rhiannon's name, they had some leisure time and were sat on the shuttle bus waiting to go back to the car park when they received a 'phone call to say she was needed backstage ASAP; it would appear they had read the wrong results.

Rhiannon was ecstatic, as you can imagine. So it was a mad dash to get there, trombone ready and straight on stage, with no time to warm-up etc.

She's now looking forward to the local qualifying competition next spring to compete at Flint in 2016.
