Milford Haven Coastguard operations room received a call from ambulance control requesting assistance for a 67-year-old woman who was taken unwell on Barafundle Bay shortly after 3 pm last Thursday. Tenby and St. Govans Coastguard Rescue Teams, together with Pembs. sector manager, were tasked to locate and rendezvous with ambulance paramedics and to assist in the evacuation of the lady from the beach area. Due to the nature of her illness and accessibility, ambulance Helimed 57a was called and lifted her to the top of the cliffs, where a doctor examined her and was able to release her on scene. The lady was holidaying in the area from Pen Y llan, Cardiff.
