Sir,

On Tuesday, October 30, when I left for work, my garden pond had nine fish in it, but at mid-morning, my husband noticed an unwelcome visitor who entered our pond and swam around before eating all but one of the fish.

It was an otter, which must have been hiding in the roots of the reeds.

He left the garden through the fence into the garden in The Maudlins, so I was wondering if he has been in any other garden ponds and helped himself to other fish?

If I had not seen the photos, I would have thought a heron had eaten the fish.

Chris Gourlay,

Tenby
