PEOPLE who have performed over and above their normal role for the good of others are being recognised by the Hywel Dda Health Board.
The Best of Health Staff Awards recognise and reward staff and the Unsung Hero category recognises people who are non clinical and have gone above and beyond their role.
There are three finalists for the unsung hero catergory and among them is Elizabeth Davies, personal assistant to the Medical Directorate, Unscheduled Care, Withybush Hospital.
Since her first day in this role Liz has provided senior nurse managers and the nursing staff with the help and support they require to manage their roles more effectively, which allows them to deal with the patient care focus. Her support is unconditional and she has recently supported three work experience students, demonstrating a keen desire to develop junior staff and share knowledge and skills.
Sonia Biggs, senior nurse manager, said: "Without doubt, Liz performs her role not as a job, but as an enjoyable hobby. Patient and carer experience is paramount in everything she does and, although this is all behind the scene, Liz ensures that she goes that extra mile to make a difference."
