THIS year's winner of the Wayne Mathias Memorial Trophy is South Pembs. YFC member, Jolene Wheeler.
The trophy is awarded annually to a member for outstanding service to their YFC club and to the county.
Jolene has been a member of South Pembs. YFC for over 10 years. In that time she has participated in numerous events and competitions, but has not been able to take on a post within the club due to the hours she works at Milford Haven and Pembroke Sports Centres.
Jolene is one of very few members of South Pembs. over the age of 16 and whilst other older members have left the fold as membership became increasingly younger, she has remained a member and continued to support and enthuse these younger members.
Jolene is now a club leader at South Pembs. and continues to support the club in every possible way. Members described Jolene as: 'Bubbly, laughs at everything (loudly), friend to everyone, lots of fun, always there to help, a complete one-off and full of energy'.
