Pembroke Main Street was closed off at Westgate Hill on Saturday afternoon, for over two hours, as a precaution, due to an unstable chimney stack on Westgate House.

Fire crews from Pembroke Dock and Haverfordwest attended the scene shortly before 3.30 pm, to make the three-storey building safe, while a structural engineer from Pembrokeshire County Council also attended to give advice.

The firefighters also assisted in helping salvage the interior of the premises.

The road was re-opened shortly before 6 pm.
