NOT one, but two chauffeurs wee on hand when county council chairman Rosemary Hayes paid a charity call on Pembrokeshire Coast National Park staff last week.
For masquerading as a 'chauffeur' - complete with uniform and peaked cap - was Janet Evans whose more usual role is as member services officer to the Park Authority.
Janet was one of many Park staff who donned a wide variety of uniform for a fund-raising day in aid of the Noah's Ark Appeal - the chosen charity of Clr. Hayes.
And the chairman's charity will benefit to the tune of nearly £140 thanks to the efforts of the National Park staff.
The Uniform Day was organised by development planning officer and 'GI girl' Sarah Middleton and financial controller and 'crossing patrol man' Steve O'Donoghue, and their colleagues took up the challenge in style.
Fire and police services were well to the fore and the medical profession was represented by nurses and a surgeon. Waitresses were on hand with calming cups of tea and a bowler-hatted 'foreman' complete with whistle kept everyone in order. The Army and the RAF were well represented too.
Clr. Hayes, who is also a member of the National Park Authority, praised the efforts and ingenuity of the staff to support her charity in such a special way.
Staff at the National Park's visitor centre at St. David's also sold bunches of daffodils during the day in aid of the appeal.
