Kilgetty U11s finally finished their allotted games recently with convincing wins over Hakin and Monkton.
Hakin came to Kilgetty unbeaten so far this season, and full of confidence.
Kilgetty, however, were determined to overturn their disputed defeat at Hakin.
Kilgetty set about the job in hand and sliced through the Hakin side with neat passing and good constructive movement. Within minutes, a pin-point pass from Tom Baker left Richard Cope one-on-one with the 'keeper, and Cope remained calm as he dummied the 'keeper before finding the net.
Kilgetty, playing up the slight slope, continued to produce fluent football and piled on the pressure, with Ross Gray, Dan Bates and Callum Proctor masterful in the middle as they kept Hakin's defence on the back foot.
Kilgetty struck both the crossbar and post before half-time, but just could not extend their well-deserved first-half lead.
Mathew Smith, Ben Watts and Shaun Lewis protected their 'keeper Ryan Lewis well, as they continued to break up any Hakin attack. On the odd occasion Hakin won a corner. Lewis came and collected.
Within 20 seconds of the restart Kilgetty almost extended their lead. Cope's low drive rebounded off the post and was put away by Baker, but the referee, much to the displeasure of the crowd, deemed it a foul, claiming he kicked the ball out of the 'keeper's grasp.
Kilgetty continued to dominate, with Gray's pace and ball control being just too hot for Hakin to handle. His pass set up Cope who made no mistake this time as he drilled the ball past the 'keeper.
A lovely individual goal followed from Proctor as he weaved his way down the right-hand side before thumping his shot into the back of the net from a tight angle.
Kilgetty finally tied up the match when their fourth came from a corner. Hakin's defence failed to clear and Dan Bates sealed a fine performance with a well deserved goal.
