Tenby Walled Town Residents' Association are pleased to announce that their fifth annual general meeting will be held at 7.30 pm on Tuesday, at Church House in Upper Frog Street. As usual, both members and non members will be made welcome. The business of the AGM should be very brief. This will be followed by a short talk by Police Community Support Officer, Idwal David, who will then answer questions on the problems that members and guests would like the police to address in Tenby. This will be an opportunity for Tenby residents and Idwal David to establish a good working relationship. Members have already identified illegal parking, litter and street traders as causing concern. TWTRA aims to represent its members on any issue related to matters within the town walls. The committee will be looking for guidance from those attending on issues that they would like to see the association concentrating on next year. The committee are still working towards a permanent order rather than the continued use of experimental orders for pedestrianisation. It is also well aware that litter problems associated with the use of black bags have not been solved and little appears to have been done to address the root cause. Gulls will always scavenge from black bags left out for collection in certain areas and the ensuing litter problem is unsightly, attracts rats and costs considerable time and money to clear up. The committee has drafted a letter on the county council's 'off street' and 'on street parking' review which is awaiting members' amendments and recommendations; copies of the draft letter will be available for inspection at the AGM. TWTRA look forward to seeing anyone interested in local matters at their AGM.
