As we were going to press yesterday (Thursday) afternoon, an investigation was beginning into an accident at a top Pembrokeshire theme park.
A 17-year-old girl was seriously injured along with a nine-year-old boy after an incident on Oakwood Park's Hydro ride - Europe's tallest water coaster.
The incident occurred at approximately 3.45 pm.
Both casualties were flown to Withybush Hospital, Haverfordwest, by air ambulance.
When the Observer contacted the hospital to check on their condition, no-one was available to comment.
A press conference was called later at the Narberth park's adjoining Canaston Bowl, and in a statement issued afterwards, a police spokesman emphasised: "The families of both casualties are aware of the incident and are with them. No person is unaccounted for.
"Dyfed Powys Police, together with the Health and Safety Executive are now commencing a full investigation."
