Two motorists were taken to hospital on Friday night following a serious road accident.

The head-on collision occurred between two vehicles at approximately 7 pm on the A4075 Carew to Cross Hands road near Cresselly.

Both drivers sustained serious injury and were conveyed to Withybush Hospital, Haverfordwest, where they were detained.

The driver of one of the vehicles was trapped in his car for some time and had to be freed by fire service personnel from Pembroke Dock.

The road was closed for approximately two-and-a-half hours while the emergency services dealt with the incident.

Police are anxious to trace anyone who was travelling the stretch of road at around the time of the accident. Witnesses are asked to contact PC Justin Williams at Pembroke Dock traffic department on 01646 682121.
