Next week, there will be two events by poet Professor Tony Curtis at Tenby Museum and Art Gallery.

On Thursday, September 29, his play Gwen John will be performed in the museum gallery, with Trish Gould taking on the role of the Haverfordwest born artist who achieved international fame. 2016 marks the 140th anniversary of Gwen’s birth and the museum has a fine selection of her work on display, so this is the ideal opportunity to catch this dramatic performance. There will be no specific charge for this performance, but will be covered by the admission ticket to the museum.

On Friday, September 30, Tony will be giving a reading from his most recent publication From the Fortunate Isles: New and Selected Poems. Seren have celebrated the 70th birthday of this Welsh poet with the publication of this book, which features poems from 10 of his previous collections published over 50 years, as well as a substantial number of new poems. This event will take place at the museum at 7 pm. Tickets cost £5 and as there is limited space, please do contact the museum (01834 842809) if you are interested in attending.
