Two teenagers who got cut off by the tide in Tenby failed to heed the warnings of local coastguards.

The pair, one aged 18 and the other 17, were reported to be stuck on the cliff below the Paragon Garden last Thursday evening.

Coastguards were tasked to the scene at approximately 6.15 pm and told the youths to stay where they were whilst help was on its way.

The town's inshore lifeboat was also launched to assist, but the boys, one from Tenby and other from Narberth, went against the advice they had been given and climbed up the rocks and into the gardens themselves.

The pair, who were both soaking wet, were given a safety briefing by coastguards, but they did not think they were in any difficulty.
