The Twenty/20 Cricket at Kilgetty on Sunday was a great success in raising funds for Mia's Wishes.

Kilgetty cricket secretary Rose Jenkins said: "The fund-raising idea during the cricket season came to fruition last Sunday, when Allen Hurst's cowboys played Graham Jenkins's Indians in a twenty20 match which was followed by a barbecue, ably prepared by Mickey and Cath Marsh, with live music from Owain.

"The evening celebration was in fancy dress, when players and supporters ate and drank heartily, whilst laughing at the antics of the afternoon which started when Allen played the opening bars to the well-known songs as the batsmen were individually introduced as they came on to play.

"The game was played by Under 11 rules, whereby the score commences with 200 and runs are deducted for each wicket lost; the batsmen merely changed ends before play recommenced.

"There were some hysterical moments, especially when the opposition greeted club chairman Dilwyn Davies when he came out to bat, by imitating his well-known dance routine!"

Thanks go to everyone who donated prizes for the raffle, also the players, namely Phil Gorman, Neil Proctor, Dean Rossiter, Colin Williams, Dilwyn Davies, Gareth Gwyther, Grant James, Duane Rossiter, Jake Marsh, Ryan Howells, Kyle Marsh, Bobby Bevan, Norman James, Paul Gorman, Matthew Lewis, Charles Owen, Brian Cullen, Richard Cope, Stuart Allen, Richard Gwyther, Mark Badham, Ian Lewis and Kurtis Marsh, who each paid for the privilege of playing.

Thanks also to Mickey and Cath for so ably feeding the crowds and donating all profits, Liam Cullen and Graham Jenkins for umpiring and Allen Hurst for the music (including qwack qwack oops for every dropped catch, This is the way we bounce the ball for every mistake whilst bowling, Feeling hot, hot, hot, for ever four hit, to name but a few).
