RETIRED commercial pilot, Reg Pyatt, of Saundersfoot, will be recalling his flying days in control of an Imperial Airways airplane on the India route as the next episode of HTV Wales' 'Wings Over Wales' looks at the expansion of air travel after the Second World War next Tuesday (May 22).
The programme, which can be seen at 11 pm, also takes a look at the Welsh air aces of World War One, including Group Captain Ira Jones, of St. Clears.
As well as meeting up with some real life Biggles', like 105-year-old Hubert Williams and Phillip Bristow, now in his 90s, well-known Pembroke Dock aviation historian, John Evans, will also appear, talking movingly about the carnage of the war in the air and reading extracts from a book by Ira Jones.
Directed by Kate Jones-Davies, 'Wings over Wales' is a Raw Carm production written and produced by Pam Hunt.
