GREENHILL school pupil Sita Thomas has fulfilled one of her ambitions with her first appearance on Saturday evening on BBC's Casualty.

Twelve-year-old Sita, who lives in Penally, played the part of a school pupil who witnesses a car accident - with the victim being an unfortunate dog.

Sita is a pupil of Swansea Stagecoach Performing Arts School and was offered this opportunity by the agency attached to the school.

Sita commented: "It was really exciting to see where Casualty is filmed and to work with some of the actors I watch on TV every week. I thought that the dog was a brilliant actor because he had to keep running in front of a car that screeched to a halt close to him."

2002 has been a busy year for this talented young lady. Sita made her television drama debut with appearances in five episodes of the programme Teachers which was broadcast on Channel 4 and S4C.

She was awarded honours, the highest grade possible, in her grade 5 LAMDA acting exam, for which she was coached by Gillian Rawlins, and was commended in grade 5 ballet. Recently she won the prize for best proposer in the Junior Youth Speaks public speaking competition organised by the Rotary Club of Saundersfoot.

She has attended a residential Indian Bollywood dance course, participated in two week-long workshops with Dawns Dyfed, and studied classical Indian dance with visiting Kathak dancer, Jayanthi Eshwapurthi.

During Kidsweek in London's West End she sang with the cast of Lion King, danced with cast members on the stage of Andrew Lloyd Webber's new show Bombay Dreams, and attended a workshop with performers from the hit musical Fame.

Sita's latest venture is a jazz dance pairing with Sam Davies; the duo choreographed an exciting routine which won rave reviews at the recent Milford Mercury talent show and intend to take their act out to other venues.

As well as learning drama, dance and singing at Stagecoach, Sita is coached by Andy Greenhouse of the Torch Youth Theatre, by peripatetic singing teacher Sarah Benbow, and by Irish dance teacher Julie Hynes. She would like to thank John Bearne, of Pembrokeshire County Council, who has gone out of his way to process performing licences for her at short notice.
