Sir,
I'm sure anyone who has walked through Kiln Park this week will agree that the landscape has vastly improved. Despite huge efforts to control the drainage, it is once again lying under several feet of flood water - and looking quite beautiful.
Instead of playing King Canute, perhaps the owners would care to accept the inevitable and 'turn the tide' on their own business. In these days of flexible opportunities, career changes and re-skilling, they are surely only a training-weekend away from turning their existing workforce into marina managers and boat salespersons.
Imagine how lovely it would be to float up from the new Tenby Marina to St. Florence, mooring up in Trefloyne quarry perhaps en route, to play a few rounds of golf.
Who knows, when the ice-cap melts a bit more, we'll carry on up the river to Carew and the world (what remains of it) will be our oyster from there on in. Now, there's something to look forward to.
June Howell,
