Staff and volunteers at the National Trust's Tudor Merchant's House in Tenby have been busy getting ready to open tomorrow (Saturday).
House manager Angela Jones and her team have given the house a good 'deep clean' and the rush mats in the hall and bedchamber have been turned so they wear evenly.
Angela commented: "The mats will be going into their third year of use and already have had over 50,000 pairs of feet on them. We're always amazed by how well the rush mats wear considering the amount of sand that gets carried into the house on our visitors' feet."
Volunteers have also helped to set out the pottery and pewter ware in the hall so visitors can see how the merchant and his family would have lived.
Families visiting during half term can play 'Tudor Family Fortunes' - a game of chance where the characters are handed out at random, so it's pure luck whether you become the merchant or the scullion. The merchant gets to wear a silk tabard; the scullion's tabard is made from sack cloth...
Tudor Merchant's House is open daily from tomorrow (Saturday) to Sunday, March 2, from 11 am, with last entry at 2.30 pm. Find out more at http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/tudormerchantshouse">www.nationaltrust.org.uk/tudormerchantshouse
