Pembrokeshire tenor, Trystan Llyr Griffiths, of Clunderwen, who will be appearing at a charity concert at the Follies Theatre, Folly Farm in November, proudly sang at the ‘Last Night of the Proms’ concert at the Royal Albert Hall in London last Saturday.
Trystan was one of 16 young singers, described by BBC presenter Katie Derham as the ‘Rising Stars’ of the Opera World, who were invited to sing ‘Serenade to Music ‘by English composer Vaughan Williams at the prestigious Prom concert, that was televised worldwide.
This invitation for Trystan further emphasises the growing esteem with which he is held in operatic circles, and his highly polished performance showed both that he has a glittering career ahead of him and that the concert goers in Pembrokeshire are in for a real treat. It really was an exceptional performance.
Trystan will be appearing at the Follies Theatre, Folly Farm, on Saturday, November 12, in a charity concert promoted by the Rotary Club of Narberth and Whitland in aid of several leading charities, including the Wales Air Ambulance, the Paul Sartori Foundation, Prostate Cymru and the Kidney Wales Foundation.
The concert is jointly sponsored by Folly Farm, Adventure Park and Zoo and Gravells Kia, Narberth.
Also appearing will be another leading Welsh tenor Rhys Meirion, the Whitland and District Male Voice Choir and young local soloists (all winners in the Rotary Young Musician contest), Sioned Llewelyn, of Efailwen, Esyllt Thomas, of Eglwyswrw, and Aaron Kendall, of Haverfordwest.
