Sir,
It is really important that anyone who cares about the Welsh nation; our history, our language our identity and our jobs votes no to further powers for the Welsh Assembly in March.
Those in favour of further powers are trying to fool us into thinking this is us against the English. It is not. It is about our credibility on the world stage.
Back in the 1970s we were told that voting yes to Europe was 'just a tidying up exercise', but look where it got us. Yes campaigners are saying the same now, using the process as a stalking horse for a gradual move to an independent Wales.
Our patriotic duty, whatever our politics, is to keep Wales part of the United Kingdom. Allowing a yes vote in March, especially on a low turnout, will start a process over which we will have little control, and for which the social and economic consequences are severe.
Di Clements,
Broomhill Farm,
Martletwy.
