Keen sportsmen and women - and those who aim to be - have a chance to take part in a series of triathlons this summer.

Pembrokeshire Leisure- the leisure services arm of Pembrokeshire County Council - is organising four events aimed at both first timers and seasoned athletes.

The triathlons include a 400m pool swim, a 12.5-mile cycle ride and a three-mile run.

Organised together with the Pembrokeshire Triathlon Club, the series follows the success of last year's Novice Triathlon at Fishguard.

And to help people get fit Pembrokeshire Leisure is also organising Go Tri sessions at all its leisure centres.

The sessions involve programmes for those interested in learning or improving their swimming, cycling or running skills.

"Last year's Novice Triathlon at Fishguard was a great success and as a result Pembrokeshire Leisure will be staging four triathlons across the County later this summer," said Clr. Rob Lewis, cabinet member for sport and leisure.

"The events are aimed at all abilities from beginners to experienced athletes and are aimed at giving people a challenge. They can take part in one or be brave and take on all four!"

The triathlons will be held at Fishguard on May 29, Crymych on July 24, Tenby on August 21 and Haverfordwest on September 18.
