Tenby's De Valence Trust met recently to discuss taking over the running of the pavilion at the beginning of April.
Lawyers acting for the Town Council and for the Trust have been told to set a date of April 1 for the takeover, and the council has been asked to confirm that they are happy with that date, and the terms of the transfer, so that the necessary preparations can be made by the Trust and the council's officers.
Lawyers acting for the Trust and others acting for the council are busy finalising the leases.
The Greenhill School Orchestra have already arranged to hold a concert in the De Valence on April 1, and the Trust have asked Paul Rapi if it could be a 'Gala Concert' to celebrate the handover of the building.
The application that has been made for Objective One funds, to finance the employment of new staff, is still being processed by the Welsh European Funding Office, but it is hoped to get a positive decision on that in the near future.
The Trust had recently been represented at a meeting of Performance Venues in Pembrokeshire, and ideas on promotion and marketing were shared. It was hoped that the meetings would continue.
A meeting would be held shortly with an organisation called Community Music Wales about the possibility of future music events in the De Valence.
TENBY2020 were to be encouraged to continue to hold their open meetings at the De Valence, and the 'surgeries' for Nick Ainger MP and Christine Gwyther AM were also to be encouraged to continue.
It was generally hoped that community organisations that had traditionally used the De Valence would continue with their bookings as before.
