Local police have praised New Year's Eve revellers for giving them a trouble free night.
Party-goers in Tenby and Saundersfoot enjoyed a tremendous party spirit with many choosing to don fancy dress costumes to add to the festive occasion.
"The presence of a number of police officers patrolling on foot and others responding in vehicles to the small number of reported incidents ensured the safety of all persons attending the celebrations," PC 182 Nigel Lewis told the Observer yesterday (Thursday).
During the evening there were only a small number of arrests and these included a 38-year-old male person from Newport, Gwent being arrested at Tudor Square, Tenby on suspicion of causing criminal damage and a 19-year-old man from Merthyr being arrested for allegedly assaulting another male.
A 20-year-old man from Tenby was also arrested in Saundersfoot on suspicion of assault, while a Jeffreyston man, who is aged 19, was arrested for criminal damage at Broadwell Hayes, Tenby.
In addition, a 39-year-old male person from Tenby was arrested to prevent a further breach of the peace after a domestic situation arose in the town's Heywood Court.
"Police at Tenby and Saundersfoot would like to thank all those who attended both communities for making the celebrations such a success," PC Lewis added.
