Last weekend, TROTs took part in the Castles Relay race starting from Caenarvon Castle and ending at Cardiff Castle.  The event was held over two days, with 59 teams competing and each team having 20 runners. All stages are tough, but in particular the most arduous stages are the six mountain stages. Running for the TROTs were Lindy Eynon, Penny Rees, Jonathan Hancock, Dean John, Ann Rowell, Mel Watson, Malcolm Adams, Mike Hodges, Helen Williams, Lon and Amanda Morgan, Clare Clethero, Ian Williams, Patrick Powell and in the mountain stages were Mike Evans, Mary Bowen Rees, Kevin Griffiths, Martin Davies, Roger Coombs and Clive Thomas. Ian Williams had an outstanding performance, winning his race, but was unfortunate to miss the course record by seconds. Clare Clethero ran well and was second female to finish in her race, close behind the female winner. Overall, TROTs came a creditable 38th position.  The team was well supported by Dwyfor Morgan, Ron Anthony, Brian Williams, Tom and Jeanette Holiday, who assisted with transport and supplied water to the runners.
