TROTs had another very successful year in the Castles Relay Race. The race comprises over 220 miles, broken into 20 races over two days, starting at Caenarvon Castle and finishing at Cardiff Castle. This year saw 58 teams compete and TROTs finished well in 37th position. This year was made special by Ian Williams, the first TROT ever to come first in his race in this event. With so many elite runners from Wales, England and a team from Holland, this was a great achievement. TROTs celebrated two female stage winners - Mary Bowen Rees and Ann Thomas. Mike Evans and Martin Davies both had excellent runs and came ninth and 11th, respectively, in their stages. Other team members were Ian Morris, Tanis Hand, Patrick Powell, Ann Rowell, Helen Williams, Mike Hodges, Melissa Watson, Evan Williams, Tom Furness, Cyril Walters, Dave Griffiths, Lon Morgan, Amanda Morgan, Roger Coombs and Kevin Griffiths. TROTs were given excellent support over the weekend by Dwyfor and Eve Morgan, Brian Williams and Tom and Jeanette Holliday. TROTs would like to thank their sponsors: Gary Stephens from Antur Insurance and Four Seasons, Tenby.
