TROTS made an excellent start to the year at the annual team pursuit race which was organised by Computer Services Agency. There was a good turnout, with 12 teams taking part in the seven-mile challenge.  TROTS successfully won the male and female team shields. 

The teams were Mike Evans, Evan and Ian Williams, Dewi Jones and Dean John and Ann Thomas, Mary Bowen Rees, Clare Clethero, Ann Rowell and Pauline Thomas.

Five TROTS were selected to run in the Welsh inter-region cross country race shortly before Christmas. Melissa Watson was first in the Masters race. Pauline Thomas was second in her age category in the Masters race. Ann Rowell was 52nd. Ian Williams was third in the under 20 race and Nesta Thomas was 29th in the under 13s race.

On Boxing Day, the Trefach Manor seven-mile race was well supported by TROT runners. Those running were Mike Evans, Ian and Evan Williams, Dean John, Melissa Watson, Dewi Jones, Peter Griffith, Dave Griffith, Ritchie Jones, Ron Morgan, Adrian Varney, Mike Hodges, Tom Furness, Pauline Thomas and Brian Williams.

The final club night prior to Christmas was the fancy dress race. Costumes ranged from two jockeys, a vampire, a pint of Guinness and a Father Christmas.  Winner for the best fancy dress was Jim Cooper as Jake the Peg.
