Five TROTS ran the Snowdon Marathon, with Mike Evans coming fifth and Clive Thomas, Dean John, Helen Williams and Mike Hodges all successfully completing it.
This was Mike Hodges's fifth marathon this year. Over the last six months Mike has run marathons in London, Prague, Edinburgh and the New Forest. He ran these to celebrate becoming half a century.
Last weekend there were two races, one at the Llysyfran reservoir. Under muddy conditions, Mike Evans and Ann Thomas were first male and female. TROT ladies did well, with Mary Bowen Rees coming 16th, Clare Clethero 21st and Lon Morgan 34th. Mike Hodges came 31st.
On the same day, the second race in the Gwent Cross Country League was held. Once again the ladies team did well, with Mel Watson coming 8th, Ann Rowell 81st, Pauline Thomas 99th, Susan Thomas 137th, Helen Robets 144th, Tessa Cooper 156th and Carolyn Powell 160th. The men's team were Carwyn Phillips, coming 92nd, Cyril Walters 175th, Adrian Varney 237th, Ron Morgan 244th and Tom Furness 272nd.
Congratulations to three TROT ladies, Melissa Watson, Pauline Thomas and Ann Thomas (as reserve), who have all been selected for the Welsh ladies cross country team.
