Tributes to a former chairman of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority were paid at Wednesday's meeting of the authority's development management committee. The Rev. Emyr Jones, who has died, was the first vice-chairman of the newly established independent Park Authority in 1996/97 and was chairman from 1997 to 1999. He had served as a member for four years and chaired two committees. Current chairman, Clr. Stephen Watkins, said he was extremely sad to hear this news. "Emyr was a minister of the gospel and a tremendous character. He will be very sadly missed in every area of life. It is so sad that someone as good, kind and colourful as Emyr has died at such an early age," he added. Members stood in silent tribute to his memory.
