The family of a young boy from Templeton who died suddenly on Saturday, have set-up a Facebook page to celebrate his life.

Tributes have been pouring in for 12-year-old Sulien Luckman, a pupil of Ysgol Dyffryn Taf in Whitland, who died at his home at the weekend.

His family has set up the Facebook group 'We Love You Sulien' so that people can share their pictures and memories of the youngster who loved outdoor sports and had a passion for nature.

The page, which has seen over a 1,000 Facebook users join, describes Sulien as - 'energetic, happy, and busy with plans for the next day, next week and on into his future', who was at the heart of a large family that includes, his dad Frederick, his mum Rachel, step mum Sam, his eldest sister Indigo, his younger brothers Theo, and Isaac, and his younger sisters Leela and Isla.

For the past three years, the former pupil of Tavernspite School, had been a member of the Pembrokeshire Harriers where he represented the club in cross-country events. Sulien even enjoyed success in the IronKids event in Tenby last year and in 2011 when it was introduced to the county.

"He was never happier than when he was outdoors and running, kayaking or camping," said his dad Frederick.

The tribute page says that Sulien was like any other boy and loved the Harry Potter series and swallowed all the books, regularly quoting their wisdom to his family.

BULLYING

claims REFUTED

His father refuted allegations that his son had been targeted by bullies, with a post on the Facebook tribute page stating: 'As his family, we are aware that it is being said that Sulien was being bullied; he wasn't. We want to honour Sulien's amazing classmates - the '8D Family' and his wider circle of friends, who are a great bunch of people, and we have been very touched by everything they have shared'.

Frederick continued: "His only involvement with bullying would be to intervene if he thought someone else was being bullied."

After the news of Sulien's passing, his school, Ysgol Dyffryn Taf, issued the following statement: "This is a tragic loss of a young life and the school is doing all it can to support the pupils through this terrible time.

"There is no evidence that Sulien was being bullied at school. There have been no incidents reported nor information received that would suggest this.

"The school has a strong ethos against bullying and effective polices in place which would have dealt with any incidents of this nature, had they occurred.

"The school is confident that bullying did not contribute to the tragic circumstances which led to this young person's death, and allegations of this nature via social media are not helpful to his family or to the pupils at Dyffryn Taff.

"Our sympathy goes to the family of this young boy who was a very well liked, friendly person, his loss is being deeply felt by both pupils and staff, and he will always be remembered," the statement added.

Speaking about Sulien's death, a spokesperson for Dyfed Powys Police said that they were carrying out investigations, but there were not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.
