Recently, Narberth RFC president and past secretary and member of the committee Tony Jones retired. A special presentation was made to Tony after the AGM.
Making the presentation, chairman John Owen said that Tony had given incredible service to the club over the past 15 years.
He said: "When Tony first got involved with the management of the club, things were in a very difficult state. There is no doubt that without Tony's expertise and energy, Narberth Rugby Club would not be the club we know today. In fact, it might not have been here at all.
"The club owes a huge debt of gratitude to him and we shall miss his hard work particularly during his long spell as club secretary and even as president taking on the secretary role when necessary. We are sure he will continue to be a loyal supporter and we look forward to welcoming here at the Lewis-Lloyd Ground."
John also paid tribute to Tony's wife, Margaret, who had supported Tony throughout the time he had been involved with the club. She had also made a huge contribution herself, having managed the club shop for many years and administered on the various senior and junior club teams kit purchases.
"They have well earned their retirement and we sincerely wish them good health and happiness and a most grateful thank you for their service and commitment to Narberth RFC," he said.
