Tributes have been paid to a teenage quad biker from the Narberth area who was killed whilst competing in a motocross event. Nineteen-year-old Daniel John Roch from Molleston, near Templeton, died on Sunday in the Bwlchllan area of Lampeter during a motocross event at the Talsarn motocross track. A Dyfed-Powys Police spokesman said that the Wales Air Ambulance attended the scene, but it was found that the rider had sustained fatal injuries. The senior coroner for Ceredigion, Mr. P. L. Brunton, opened an inquest into the death on Monday. Local county councillor Elwyn Morse paid tribute to Dan, a a former pupil of Templeton CP School and Ysgol Dyffryn Taf, Whitland. "He was a lovely-natured young man from a well-respected family," he said. "His tragic loss is being felt greatly by the people of Templeton and the surrounding area. "Dan's untimely death has truly shocked the community, and our thoughts are with the Roch and Page families at this very sad time," added Clr. Morse. Police are continuing to investigate the tragic incident and to aid their investigation have appealed to anyone who was at the event and saw the incident or anyone who may have been filming the race with their cameras to contact them on 101.
