Gaining Museum Accreditation is a vital step in the future development of the Pembroke Dock Heritage Centre and a new appointment seeks to achieve this in the next two years.
Trustees have appointed Trevor Clark (pictured) as accreditation consultant to lead the process, supported by a small and dedicated team of volunteers.
The post is funded through an award from Pembrokeshire County Council’s Enhancing Pembrokeshire Grant to the Pembroke Dock Heritage Trust.
A former RAF serviceman, Trevor moved to Templeton in 2019 and brings with him considerable experience in the heritage field. He was previously involved for many years at one of the UK’s leading aviation museums at Tangmere, West Sussex, holding a number of voluntary roles there, latterly as Museum Curator.
Said Trevor: “Our collection at the Pembroke Dock Heritage Centre is totally unique and gaining full Museum Accreditation will ensure it also conforms to the very highest standards.”
Trust chirman, Graham Clarkson, added: “Trevor joined us as a volunteer and he has all the background and experience to lead us through the process of achieving the all-important accreditation. Working with him will be volunteers who are equally committed to this goal and to seeing the Trust and the Centre continue to develop and flourish.”
The Heritage Centre re-opened at the start of June with a ‘new look’, with many changes made during the recent enforced closure.
