Through the columns of your 'paper I would like on behalf of the Tenby Inner Wheel Club to thank all the kind people who have filled shoeboxes for the 'Operation Christmas Child' collection we have recently been co-ordinating.
The response to our appeal this year has been absolutely marvellous, with 385 boxes being donated, which is double the amount we collected last year.
As well as the Inner Wheel members, many local schools and organisations have been involved, including St. Johns Church Sunday School, Tenby Infants School, Tenby Junior School, the night nurses at Withybush Hospital, Skrinkle Bowling Club, Lydstep acqua-aerobics, Tenby Brownies, Tenby and District Soroptimist Club, Saundersfoot Inner Wheel Club and members of Tenby Golf Club, together with many friends and individuals who dropped boxes into Blueberrys, the Pam Pam and Waterloo House.
Many thanks also to Mrs. Hoyland, of Saundersfoot, who donated a big bag of cuddly toys.
