A pro shop stableford was arranged for Tuesday and El Bandito Josh Hawkes came out on top with 38 points after countback from Glyn Latcham. Garfield Price limped in third with 37.

The back nine was again chosen for the Wednesday night roll-up and the beer vouchers were handed over to John Calleja.

Saturday's monthly medal was well attended and the results were:

Division One - 1. Dave McMann nett 73; 2. Robin Lloyd nett 73; 3. Billy Truman nett 74.

Division Two - 1. Alun Phillilps nett 69; 2. Nick Johns nett 71; 3. Gil Thomas nett 74.

The Sunday Swingers teed off in glorious sunshine, so much so that one member left the top of his convertible down - a decision he regretted as he teed-off on the 13th in torrential rain! He proceeded to set a new speed record for playing the next four holes so he could get to the car and cover it up.

The winner was Meurig Evans with 39 points, 2. Rob Evans 35.

Seniors

On Thursday, May 5, Trefloyne Seniors played host to the team from Derllys Court (writes JJ). The match began under a threatening bank of clouds and by the time the fourth group reached the tee there was a rush for the wet weather gear. Luckily it did not persist for too long, but left the rough a place to be avoided.

Trevor Lewis and Denis Busby teed-off against Reg Powell and Chris Palmer. The visitors found the course suited their game and gave the home pair a golf lesson, winning 5 and 4.

Next off were Darrell Jones and Steve Jones playing Roy Gallop and Phil Rogers. A close game that at one stage went in favour of the visitors, but a late rally from Darrell and Steve put them back in contention, only to lose it at the 17th by 2 and 1.

Not a good start for Trefloyne, however.

Terry Harvey and Wyn Hopkins took on Winston John and Hugh Davies and played steady for a 6 and 5 win.

Fourth away were John James and Jack Zeraschi versus Ian Robinson and Barry Woodford. John and Jack took a two-hole lead into the back nine and extended that to four at the 12th. Two halves followed, before the Derllys pair took the 15th, but a half on the 16th was enough to give the game to John and Jack  by 3 and 2.

Next pair, Graham Harrison and Dave Crowley were up against Dave Newman and Handel Jones. Despite one of the visitors having a handicap of 11, the game did not go as expected. Graham and Dave lost no time in taking control and had a well deserved 8 and 7 victory.

Teeing off the 10th were Wayne Connett and Stuart Mills against Derrek Davies and Terry Priest. With not much to chose between the pairs, the score oscillated until the home pair settled it at the 17th, winning 2 and 1.

They were followed by Barry Wood and Steve Scanlon with Clive Jones and John Llewellyn. Barry and Steve took an early lead and did not let it slip, coming in victors by 4 and 2.

Finally, Pat Casement and Derek Jones took on Les Burgoine and Dave Wood. The visitors had no answer to the skills of the home pair, Pat and Derek winning 4 and 3.

In spite of the shaky start, Trefloyne finished 6-2 up. As a consolation, though, most of the raffle prizes went to the visitors.
