Saturday's cross country Texas scramble was a great success. The course was divided into nine holes, the longest being from the fourth tee to the seventh green - a distance of some 1,000 yards!
The result couldn't have been closer, with the two top teams scoring 28.9. Even after countback they couldn't be divided, so the prize was shared.
The winning teams were Nick Griffiths, Alan Gawith, Archie Greaves and Barry Neale; Graham Harrison, Lind Coward, Vicky Day and Eunice Parkes.
Men's Section
The result of Thursday's seniors stableford competition was: 1. Gil Thomas 38 pts; 2. Pat Casement 33; 3. Mel Neale 30.
I don't know what Darrell Jones has done to upset people, but he seemed to spend the whole round with his hands on his head and avoiding golf balls - sort it out Darrell before somebody gets hurt.
The Sunday Swingers teed-off in damp, miserable conditions and finished in glorious sunshine, with the wind strengthening as the round went on, making for some very difficult golf.
The Swingers was won by Mark Ensor with 34 points after countback and Robin Lloyd won the stableford with a great 37 points considering the conditions.
Tomorrow (Saturday) is the monthly medal and don't forget that the mid-week medal starts on Tuesday, March 15.
